The Perth Mint is pleased to announce the new annual release to the renowned Australian Kangaroo proof coin series.  This distinctive new design will without doubt become a classic collectable.

Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.

For outstanding impact, the coin is made with an extra-deep blank to accommodate its superbly detailed high relief depiction of a kangaroo against a background of sunrays. The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and the 2011 year-date are also incorporated into the design.

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.
